adding one to possible upsides:
- AMD demonstrates QC Opteron

Yes, I had that one as a reason to hold through June 1, but forgot to put it on the upside list.

Ok, so what do they need to show it doing to keep the bears from saying, "Is that all? Must be a sick process." A working silicon demo is a two edged sword. The 800MHz Opteron demos were "rock solid 1st silicon", but targets of catcalls as to speed from the Itanic crowd.

Hope it comes.

1st quad core, most likely with a demo June 1:
c) 65nm K8L (60%)
b) 65nm K8 shrink (30%)
a) 90nm K8 (10%)
d) something else

Joe, Re: PS: This poll of mid year demo of QC chips is now closed and canceled without a winner.>

LOL.

Adding one to possible upsides:
- AMD demonstrates QC Opteron

It is very probable, since AMD promised that it would happen around mid year. It will most likely be Socket F, and as far as cores, either:
- 90nm K8
- 65nm K8 shrink
- 65nm K8L

Does anybody want to assign probabilities of which version of QC will be demonstrated?

How about a poll? The question is what will be AMD's first QC processor:
a) 90nm K8
b) 65nm K8 shrink
c) 65nm K8L
d) something else

LOL.

The defining line is: The question is what will be AMD's first QC processor:

I think you're guilty of premature cancellation; a thing which frequently occurs in company with excessive enthusiasm.

I'd say poll remains open.
