I dont think its a question of keeping as much as it is a security issue from possible future attacks from Arab nations. I think as peace breaks out israel would be only too happy to give this back. Thats why a regional arrangement that recognizes de facto borders for the most and addresses security worries of the israelis, while allowing the Pals to live in peace with a very real opportunity for economic progress and some measure of democracy might work. Small nation states but a larger entity. I may be just dreaming here but i see no other way to solve this problem long term.
