I'm for ending illegal immigration, it's just not my top issue. If we really want to do it, the way is to locate, fine/jail and punish the illegal employers of illegal aliens. Demonizing the illegal hispanics is inefficient and won't work - they already KNOW they're illegal. Neither will a fence or wall. Employers CAN'T hide. If those Minutemen want to have a real effect, start putting the employers of illegals names, pictures and businesses in the paper in their communities. Scare employers enough so that they divest themselves of illegals, and not only will new migrants no find jobs waiting, the ones already here will have to return to parts south. Any SS # can be matched with a name by calling a Government 800 #, or by using the website. So, that is a poor excuse. ssa.gov It WILL have a tremendously disruptive effect on the economy, as employers have to raise wages to get workers to do "the jobs Americans won't do". We may have to make some adjustments as we deal wth the fallout.
