Lets see you have to be a citizen to vote and you have to have a working knowledge of English to be a citizen. ERGO

We have much bigger problems than Spanish being a second language in border states. On that note though, Spanish not French should be taught in US schools as a second language. In fact Americans should speak more foreign languages. Chinese and Japanese can also be very useful in business.
Our country is far too mono-linguistic.
