Pals are trying to do - they are trying to destroy a state, not build one.

They're trying to destroy the Jewish state, not their own. I might agree with you that they are succeeding at destroying their own in the process.

unless you have the debatable good fortune of having Jews for your enemies,

That's why I have been tossing in southern Africa. Blacks and whites, not Jew and Muslim. BTW, largely Christian on both sides of the black/white divide, so more cleanly ethnic without religion as a large factor.

By that metric, the West did support them, inasmuch as they were recognized as viable enterprises & legitimate states.

If you call economic sanctions support I guess. Seems an odd definition to me. Rhodesia is the one to look at, since their level of racism was a good deal less than South Africa's, they were a model of law and order, and a very functional state, who feed, educated, and provided pretty good medical services for all their citizens. Their racial barriers were in some sense not even racial, they were more like a poll tax, you could vote if you had a certain economic standing, which effectively limited black participation, but also allowed eventual inclusion of most everyone, as economic prosperity spread. As I noted, the USA and most of the rest of the world assisted this model African country by imposing trade sanctions. I remember we limped along on 9 imperial gallons of gas/month for Auto use for our family. You should try that living 30 miles from the closest town.
