Really, the company just throws out all existing 32b hardware, and upgrades everyone to new equipment because less than 1% need 64b?

Sounds unlikely.

Doug asked about low-end users. I think even he would have to admit that 64-bit Vista compatability is very important for high end users at the end of 2006.
