Suing for political smear campaigns is not smart. It's actually just what the smear jockeys want you to do. In the smearvets case, they have big-time corporate backing to handle their legal expenses. People like Mellon-Scaife and Bob Perry would love to have a public legal battle. Remember guys like that put out millions for those frivolous bimbo lawsuits against Clinton. They lose airing laundry in court. Even if the laundry is fabricated smears.

And even if the court were to decide all the smears were wrong, how can Kerry prove he was damaged? Can he prove he lost the WH because of these smears? Nope. In fact it might not have been the deciding issue. Maybe Bushies cheating in Ohio was the deciding factor. Or Bush's phony terrorist alerts. Or the Osama Bin Lauden tape. Or whatever.

One more thing. In politicvs like in sports you cannot appear to be a sore loser. Kerry has had real class so far taking it like a man. He has to be very careful not to lose that well-earned integrity. Remember when Nixon whined after 1962? He had to retire in shame. But then came back 6 years later to win big. After someone killed the Kennedys.
