Illegals take over US.

statesman.com

IMO a major sell signal on the USA. Government no longer effective and only exists to get bigger and less efficient. The last thing they want is a solution.
Here's solution #1:
Open the border to all and lay off 85k border patrol agents.

Solution #2:
Mine the border and lay off 80k border patrol agents as the illegals now must face increased risk of coming. Keep 5k agents as sharpshooters to shoot on sight those crossing illegally.

I am inviting board members to post other solutions but please don't tell me we have to spend more money. The US government is BANKRUPT. A nation that has no will for solution is doomed to fail.

Immigrants always have faced risk coming to the US. In the past many ships were lost coming to America and that fact had to weigh in the individuals decision to come. The risk to reward is tilted better than ever towards reward.

Now you don't need a ship or that risk. Your basic risk is trying to walk through the desert but once you arrive, you get free health care, even food stamps with the phoney documents and the government employees desire to increase their case loads so to justify an ever increasing budget. Even if caught you get 3 square meals for several days and a nice plane ride home. Some of these people doubtless make the journey knowing the consolation prize even if caught is a plane ride they would never ever get the thrill of at home.

Look around you, the corruption is not just with Enron, Fannie Mae, or corporate America with the backdated options; it exists in all levels of government which never downsizes or becomes efficient. Laws to prevent hiring of illegals go unenforced. Judges and attorneys want the revolving door to continue as they make as much money as with the drug situation. Endless appeals, delays all billable at the convenient hourly rate.

The landowner losing his land to the illegals illustrates my belief that the US is starting a downward spiral as half the population is trying to take from the other half either by lawsuits or the growth of government and taxes. Meanwhile the voters who have saved nothing and produce nothing are mollified with more entitlements.

Cheers!

It cracks me up how Prius bashers always conveniently fail to mention the $3150.00 tax credit, as if it has no significance. Even funnier is how they always want to compare a Prius to a Corolla, Yarus, or Focus etc. Like comparing an apple to a raison. They never mention that the "comparable gas engine" in the Prius is backed by a torquey electric powerhouse that pushes it into a very different class performance wise. Then of course there is the 15-20 mi. a gallon difference in gas mileage over anything truly comparable, lets see, that takes me 165+ miles farther each and every comparative tankful, and for that I am very thankful. Then there are the numerous smaller blessings: environmental, fewer oil changes, less wear on the gas engine for considerable longer life span etc. and etc. Yeah, I'll stick by my experience over others hearsay, always.
