"I still stand by my view that any recovery is better than none at all."

I don't think anyone would argue against that. It is just that we have been running a deficit that amounts to $1 billion a day. If that was paid directly to 10 million chronically unemployed to the tune of $100 a day, we would have an economy that would be booming according to any economic theory. Yet, we don't. Why is that?

"any recovery is better than none at all"????

What about a recovery that is stimulated by the lowest interest rates in 50 years accompanied by the easiest money policy in the last 25? Have you looked at the collapse of the dollar lately...do you understand how that IS and WILL have repercussions in the future?

Have you noticed the HALF TRILLION PER YEAR deficits and the fact that we are paying our tax dollars out for INTEREST almost as much as we are paying for NATIONAL DEFENCE???

CJ, Try since WWII. That is the touchstone.

I still stand by my view that any recovery is better than none at all.

Hmmm.......I suspect you didn't settle when it came to your car or your house or your job. After all, you have a Beamer. live in the OC and work for INTC. So why should you [and I and everyone] settle for a recovery that's only so so when we know we can do better?
