"While Intel's Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors will be released at the beginning of Q3 of this year it will take some time for all of Intel's shipments to be Conroe based. The scary statistic is that by the end of this year, only 25% of Intel's Performance Mainstream desktop processor shipments will be based on Conroe. The remaining 75% will still be NetBurst based, meaning they will be Pentium 4, Pentium D and Pentium Extreme Edition."

As the old lady once said (you know, the one in the hamburger commercial): "Where's the beef?"

Highly overblown this whole Conroe thing given that AMD's 65nm competition is likely to "nuke" Conroes performance at a time when INTC has committed all its resources to this "wunderkind" (at least according to Doug and eracer)...

I'm thinking that AMD july 30 calls are beginning to look very attractive. After all, the negative impact of Conroe on AMD's price is already waaaay overblown, given the above "production constraints as pointed out by anand above, and given Q2 earnings that blow away the current $0.29 consensus!

When the reality of Anand's comment above combined with Q2 AMD earnings that blow away the $0.29 consensus, a test of $35 would seem inevitable...Then all this "smoke and mirror" 32-bit Conroe hype, fanned by the popular media and a few INTCmaniacs in our midst, will be seen for what it is: a smokescreen to mask the horrendous current state of affairs at INTC, ;-)
