Am off and running for the day, and yes, I saw your challenge. Seeing how you feel about that, you probably weren't horrified at the burning, hanging bodies of our soldiers at the bridge in Iraq.

It still makes me shudder, and makes me angry. Some one of our juvenile Americans who dared to put on a Military uniform, terrorizes the murdering Iraqi's, by drooling dogs and women's panties, and the world falls apart.

But hang and drag and burn our soldiers, and ....nadda.....

It's got to do with remembrance, a family who will want the emotional release afforded by a funeral, and the fact that anyone in harm's way knows that his family will be able to pay their respects to him. It also promotes bonding and selflessness, two military virtues.

Nothing to do with logic, a purely emotional issue.
