Actually, the rant above originated in in a FreeRepublic.com forum in 2000. It was titled "I am a Bad Republican" and was posted by an author known only as "Bootyist Monk," who takes full responsibility for it. Very soon thereafter, in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks, it was changed slightly, retitled "I Am A Bad American," attributed to Carlin or Nugent and made a very popular chain letter. ( from breakthechain.org )

Offhand, I'd say it sounds more like some random freeper that George Carlin.

My sister sent me this video of scenes of NO set to Bruce Springsteen's "City of Ruins."

I think the first time I really understood that there are perfectly intelligent, perfectly sane people just born with rocks in their heads was when I read the hatred poured down on the people of New Orleans after Katrina. It's still pouring down, to this day. But they have rocks in their heads, and probably always will.

145 square miles of densely populated urban neighborhoods underwater.

You know it's one of those things, if you know New Orleans you get it, and if you don't know New Orleans you'll never get it, but if you watch this maybe you'll get it a little tiny bit.

Some New Orleans firefighters shot video footage of the 17th Canal Levee right after it breached. They knew it was not overtopped, but were told to keep quiet about it.

Apparently there was a National Geographic Special that used the footage last week I didn't know about.
