It's not trolling. Eleutheria is correct that there was no UN Security Council resolution expressly authorizing the use of force against Iraq.

I don't expect you to agree with that. I expect you to buy the spin put on it by the administration that the use of force was "implied" by prior resolutions.

After all, the things are written in a specialized form of legalese which causes most people's eyes to glaze over.

Bush has some very clever lawyers who make Clinton's "that depends on what the definition of 'is' is" look like child's play. To put it bluntly, they sometimes take legal positions that are not supported by dictionaries, the Constitution and the US Code.

Done is done, but history will judge them by different standards.

I prefer Andrew Jackson's approach -- "they've made their ruling, now let them enforce it." Painfully honest.
