Bobo's implication is rather obvious: that Weiss himself is writing the reviews in question. I doubt it; probably he has better things to do. I've never been convinced that the Amazon review system is a good idea. While some of the reviews are thoughtful, and written by people who actually know whereof they speak, the vast majority are, at best, mere personal opinion. And then there're the agenda-driven reviewers. Several years ago Pugs and a couple of his friends sought out books by me and gave them nasty notices. I didn't do the same to them; it's just tacky. Frankly I think the review system should be junked, unless Amazon can find a way to make "reviewers" use their real names.
