If they change the internet the US govt will be overthrown by its citizens. One cannot help but notice that all the homeland stupidity and invasion of privacy is leading up to something. They were hoping to get the average citizen to accept ridiculous intrusions into their lives claiming it was for security reasons so they can make the BIG play for the internet. This site may also be interrupted if this passes. I notice hardly anyone answered my post. See? People are beaten into submission. When will they ever learn?

<I remember being in the US and constantly receiving totally harassing marketing pitches from the phone companies, and cable was a complete rip-off>

When did you live in the US? I was in WA state to Nov 05 and with the 'do not call' law you don't get harrassing telemarketing calls anymore.

Plus, I'd like to trade my Shaw internet for my old Comcast with blistering fast high speed internet at ridiculously cheap prices with no equipment to buy (unlike Shaw). The cable TV+internet bundle was super cheap and there were way more channels than Shaw. I hate having to pay separately for Nat'l Geographic, Bloomberg, Discovery Health etc etc.

I agree that perhaps the telcos see a money grab chance but I don't think that makes them any worse than other telcos.
