your company is probably a good short if you're booming because of surging property tax revenues and Cramer gave you a booyah.

how much better can it get?

do you mind disclosing your company?

I know that one place these tax revenues are going is into infrastructure.

I went to one of the local community pools today to look at the bikinis - it was GONE - they ripped that sucker up - putting in new pools - building an indoor pool facility - mega million infrastructure redevelopment. I went to the local walmart - it was in shambles - completely remodeling it - all the seniors were pissed - couldn't find thier drugs anymore - kept telling each other it was a treasure hunt for the red yeast rice. One lady quipped it will take me years to relearn the new store layout.

RE:"Local tax revenues should have mushroomed over the last few years with property tax assessments going up. Where is all this money going?"

Here in bubbleland they are landscaping the medians with Marjool (desert) Date Palms (Phoenix dactylifera), Royal Palms, bottle palms and other expensive stuff a hurricane may take out. Not to mention Pavers and Paver crosswalks. They got the money and you can bet they are gonna spend it. After they put it all in they have to bring watering trucks to keep it alive, Cha Ching.

<we can't seem to hire new people because the job market is too hot> A large percentage of the people on this thread are wedded to the idea that the economy is in fact extremely fragile with weak employment income and unemployment being serious concerns. They think that changes in the prospects for real estate are going to trigger a global depression. When you speak of the hot job market and municipalities with cash to put into new infrastructure, etc., it is only natural for them to turn that into more evidence of impending doom.
