I quite like the posts of mr Merks, he's much more towards my style of investing and he's quite right about you being very juvenile by telling him to f*** off in a pvt msg.

Help needed....Hedging/Collar. I seem to recall that recently one of the miners (Junior/Mid-Tier?) bought/sold a collar. I remember it because the majors are selling down their hedge books like crazy in the 1Q06. I can't remember who it was, nor if it was a counter move to a forced forward sale ala a non-recourse loan.

Can anyone help me with who it was that has a collar?

Oh look! Our favorite NG is being swallowed up by ABX! Guess we have a new pattern in the PM market: big fish eating little fish before they can grow to a viable size.

Is there any point in chasing the 'almost producer' model anymore if 25% is the most one could hope for on a takeover premium? Looks like the buyers are waiting for the dip in prices before making their offers. Perhaps we'll see more M&A action before the seasonal bottom is put in.
