A couple weeks back, a bird fell inside one of our 10"x10' round columns on the front porch. I had to make a tee and use a 2 1/2 ton hydraulic jack to jack up the porch and remove the column to free the bird. The temp was in the mid 90's and this was the sunny side of the house. When I finished, I closed up the tops of the 4 columns with duct tape.....like I should have done in the first place.
