I've never lived anywhere where judges were elected. That seems very alien to me. I can't imagine myself qualified to vote for a judge. Chief executives and legislators, yes, maybe sheriffs, but judges? Can't get my head around it. I'd look at that as a systems problem, not one of public manipulation, although I take your point.

Both interesting and fascinating!

No particularly surprising though since many voters vote emotion versus logic.

Kind of like poll questions - many questions are designed to achieve the most emotive answer.

Hope this judge can stay on the bench. She sounds like a sharp one.
