Well, either side could "make peace" by accomodating the other.

Not if one side demands the extinction and ethnic clearing of the other.

Furthermore, Israel is merely the excuse, not the cause of Arab problems.

The Arab states are not connected to modern world (save as a gas pump), and are in the midst of humongous demographic boom. Their education systems stink, their general culture promotes hierarchical and autocratic systems, and their stagnant economies cannot provide jobs for all these young men (not to mention the even more oppressed young women).

Just for the kicker, a large swathe of the region is in love with a Perfectly Stupid Idea - Islamism, the return to a 7th century totalitarianism that never was.

And oh yes, just btw, lots of these people are flooding into Europe in search of jobs.

So tell me, which of these problems would be solved if Israel fell into the sea tomorrow? We are not looking at a recipe for stability here, my friend.

I try look at the Israel-Palestine situation as a non-Muslim, non-Jew who doesn't live in the region, and see what conclusions I make. Assigning blame for 60 years of fighting is not my goal.

Great. Just do try to take an informed look at the situation.
