I honestly believe that once we "cut and run" (which is not what we're advocating as this war is over 4 years old) that the Iraqis have a chance to get it together. We're a lightning rod for insurgents and terrorists.

Why not test out this strategy.........after all our Civil war resolved and we didn't have the British occupying our country at the time.

American Spirit....I think I have to disagree with you on whether a majority of Iraqis want us out.

I think the Kurds are happy to have us there. We allow them to further consolidate their autonomy and keep things in the south from spreading toward them.

I think a solid majority of the Sunnis don't want us to leave, because they aren't crazy about the Shiite militias running unchecked.

I think at least a good 40% of the Shiites don't want us out immediately either. I haven't heard Sistani saying we should get out and I think he speaks for a pretty solid chunk of the Shiites.

I think MOST Iraqis HATE us, but I think they'd also prefer to stick with the devil they know than what's behind door #2.
