If you meant that, then logically you ought to regret that Lincoln didn't let the Confederacy go. For if he hadn't then your proposed movement to force the south to secede would already be an accomplished fact. But you don't want to be honest about it. I think the original post on the topic starts with Iowa. But secession is not "forced" by definition. Secession is a voluntary act. The Southern States weren't forced to secede. They seceded voluntarily. How in the world would you know what they say? Would you expect the liberal media to report criticisms of Phelps by "other church leaders"? I've seen some comments from Jerry Falwell at least. That's one name I recall off hand and his comments were pretty lame. I would expect the "liberal media" to be pleased as punch to print up condemnations of the Phelps family gay bashers. Do you think the "liberal media" would suppress condemning statements of gay bashers? The liberal media, as you call it, was more than happy to publish the views of various church leaders on Pat Robertson's comments on Ariel Sharon's God-inflicted punishment. If you have some so called conservative media's reporting that would be greatly appreciated. All that little statement shows is your inflated ego. LOL. Do you think if we all stand around in a circle, hold hands and wish for something, it will happen? It's pretty difficult to change history by a "wish". Forgive me if I don't think about wishing for historical events to be different. No, you did when you proposed the forced secession of the red states and expulsion of Republicans. Hey were you thinking about some constitutional question when you proposed the expulsion of Republicans? As I said above, "secession" is voluntary. If it's "forced" you have to come up with a different word. The success of the proposition hinges on Constitutional and government law. It would be illegal for me to propose overthrowing the US government, in spite of what the Declaration of Independence says. In order to avoid being charged with a crime, I have to consider the legal issues. As the Constitution was individually ratified by the State Legislature I don't believe I would have any legal foundation to expel States. If I pursued that option it might be interpreted as an attempt to overthrow the US Government. It doesn't do me any good to be in prison.Of course, no one would expect a liberal to go to war or anything. If the red States wanted to secede wouldn't you support their right to self-determination? jttmab
