Like most of my judgments, it's a systems judgment. Feasibility matters. If solving the problem is not feasible, what's the point? I suspect the "systems" judgment is political, particularly when you mean you can't get a policy proposal through congress. As for the energy expanded to type this rather than your lines, it's minimal. ;-0. More than minimal. I would prefer, fwiw, the licensing of guns with required training sessions for owners, much as we require such for auto drivers licenses. Perhaps in a different political climate.
