Organized crime is really all we are dealing with here even if it isn't official anymore.

You are also spot on that unions protect the sludge. Good employee's will always find jobs at good wages, the shitheads need the union to earn 24 an hour because they would be bagging groceries for minimum were it not for the union.

On the plus being in construction workers are considered union workers not my employee's. Now my guys are my guys and won't go anywhere else but the others are all travelers. What that means to me is all I need do to get rid of a moron is lay him off. Don't even need a reason. Had a guy on his first day of work when I was still in the shop tell me he didn't have to do what I asked him to do because that isn't covered under the contract. I said, huh? He pulled a book out of his back pocket and I said what is that, he told me it was the union contract and started to open it and I said don't bother, your laid off. He said I just got here and I said tough shit I will pay you the 4 hours you have coming, leave now. Never heard a peep out of him or the union. Last I heard though the guys reputation preceded him and he couldn't get off the bench anymore and left the trade.
