I suspect that their problem isn't really with TV but that is a proxy for the whole decline of morality. They can't do anything about the way people dress or speak on the streets, for example, but they can take up the TV cause politically and pick on it so that they feel like they're doing something. I have some sympathy for people trying to raise their kids protected from some of the input they get from our culture, religious people who are uncomfortable with the mainstream drummer. But, like the problem of living with guns, there really isn't much one can do. Same with gun control. I respect "doing something" in the face of these challenges. The only thing that bugs me is when those who are in that mode lose track of the reality that it's mostly feel good rather than productive.
