Idolatry, personal pride, 'look at me', part of a group, forced participation (gangs) etc.

Or, in the case of babies making babies, why would they imitate their own mothers and fathers?

I agree with Bill Cosby, Walter Williams and Larry Elder who credit the black population for full ownership of this problem and must decide to solve it.

It is not fixed by a 'new feminism' in my view.

People like Sharpton and Jackson could be a helluva lot more helpful as examples.
