Some, I'm sure, but that's probably impossible to quantify.

One thing we know is that US corporate profits have been setting records in recent years and little of that money is "trickling down" to non-managerial wages. The rising tide is only lifting the yachts... the little boats are sinking.

A lady I know who "does" outsourcing explains it like this:

Your productivity goes WAY up, because you've got three Indians or Chinese doing the same job as your ONE American. Even if they are less productive individually, they are MORE productive overall, even factoring in long-distance communication, co-ordination and management.

Your wage expense doesn't go up, because the three foreign workers cost less or the same as your American.

As a manager or an executive, you look like a GOD to your shareholders, boss, whoever.
