Oh, yeah, of course! Why didn't I think of that?

That's the explanation as to why women aren't making more than token advances. They just want to start at the top!

Um . . . could it possibly be that your mental image of pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps sort of glosses over the advantages you were given?

Excellent commentary! This country has many, many examples of highly successful women in the corporate and government world. And, there are more each day.

I also agree that some people think they should start at the top or rise more quickly in the food chain. IOW, some don't really want to work for the promotion. Give it to me now. I deserve it. We have been kept down for too long.
