>>I think the 9/11 Commission report will have to be revised after they are done translating the IIS documents. We do know now, as the commission didn't, that Zarqawi established his Baghdad cell in 2002. Heaven only knows what the decisionmakers saw. The Baathist and AQ certainly sprang forward joined at the him as soon as the American invaded, so it's kind of moot question exactly how much assistance Saddam gave AQ before 9/11.<<

Nadine -

Do we know that about Zarqawi? Did we read it in The Sun or hear it on Fox News?

Anyway, what we know now and whether the Bush administration was intentionally misleading everyone in 2002 and 3 based on what was known then are different issues, wouldn't you say?

Also, it seems to me that Al Qaeda in Iraq did NOT appear as soon as we invaded. It seems that there were Baathist holdouts attacking Americans for quite a while, and that only gradually did the strategies and nature of the attacks change as Al Qaeda in Iraq surfaced.

And speaking of deception, global warming is another issue the Bushies have been misleading about. See today's story about that:
