The same folks who espouse that idea, are decidedly quiet today when it turns out there were WMD found in Iraq that Saddam DID NOT declare to the UN, and DID NOT get rid of.....

I don't think anybody who claims that "Bush lied" is even allowed to post here on PfP, they get booted.

But the allegation that people who think "Bush lied" are not laughing at the allegation that 500 shells of WMD were recently found is simply untrue.

Even I, who don't think "Bush lied", am sort of laughing and sort of shaking my head over the "new" WMD that are just the old pre-1991 stuff that they've been finding over the past 3 years in dribs and drabs, here and there. Read the actual declassified report for yourself, and don't stop there.

I appreciate the sincerity and optimism of people who keep shoveling, looking for the pony, but there's no pony.

shucks, KLP, too many what ifs for me in that. What if we hadn't gone in, and just kept him contained? What if we had been a little less in your face to the UN, and even more compromising in our efforts to get support from others? What if we had gone after the other countries who support terrorism? This action compounded our difficulties with other countries, has limited our resources to respond to other threats, and has divided the country, not to mention the verdict is still out on whether we really will leave Iraq any better off and at what final cost to us.
I've never been a Bush lied person and I know of no one who was claiming Saddam had never had WMD or still had the desire for them. The situation never reached the level (for me) to justify preemptive war. It seems to be a common misperception here that because one didn't support the war at that time for those reasons, one therefore was some sort of pacifistic PC-governed bleeding heart liberal. It may be easier to believe that, but it is not accurate.
