"terrorists would rejoice if we left Iraq" Until they were killed in the civil war by the 'terrorists' of the other side --- Sunni 'terrorists' killed by Shiite 'terrorists', etc., etc. (To the fundamentalist Sunnis --- like the extremist W'habbists of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan --- Christians and Jews are still "people of the book", sharing the old testament writings with their religion... but the SHIITES are hated much MORE, because they are considered APOSTATES, 'spawn of the devil', rejectors of the true religion.) And the Shiites --- have been carrying a grudge around against the Sunni Muslims for CENTURIES, and have been oppressed by them in most Islamic countries for that great length of time. Unlike the West --- which experienced a great flowering of freedom and religious tolerance in the Reformation after the great and bloody religious wars between Catholics and Protestants --- the Islamic world has never yet had that focusing, that rejection of religious extremism that only comes after fundamentalist excesses and bloodletting....
