Just an observation here, and not an argument. I wish the news would report more about who is doing what to who. Is it usually shias killing sunnis, sunnis killing shias, or a tie? But the news today is not worried about reporting the facts so we can analyse them. It is an exercise in editortialism (I think I made this word up), and they give you their opinion on the facts as they see them. Most news stories that report the sectarian violence omit who did the killing.

Just an observation. Maybe they don't know who did it. But if it is mostly one side doing the killing, seems like it would be easier for the Iraqi government to handle.
