Hi, ST, you know you're supposed to put links!

Here's the link to the Jamestown Foundation but no link to that story pops up on cursory observation.
jamestown.org

Not that I'm doubting Scheuer wrote it. I am familiar with Scheuer's writings and have no reason to dispute anything he says, factually.

OTOH, he's been out of the CIA for a while now, so probably no longer has the inside scoop.

Treating him as a pundit, there's an inherent flaw in the argument -- let's agree that attacking Al Qaeda and other terrorists is a great way of recruiting new terrorists -- if we didn't attack Al Qaeda and other terrorists, would they go away?

Bin Laden's jihadi spring
By Michael Scheuer

Nice piece. Thanks for posting it and the link. It's fairly recent. It fits with my own reading.

Did you know the FBI does not include 911 in bin Ladin's Most Wanted description?

Here is the text from fbi.gov:

MURDER OF U.S. NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES; CONSPIRACY TO MURDER U.S. NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES; ATTACK ON A FEDERAL FACILITY RESULTING IN DEATH

Usama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world.

After all the fuss about bin Laden attacking us that day, you would think the FBI might have thought to include 911. Or do they have no evidence?

You'd think someone from the "liberal media" might have noticed and actually asked some questions.
