The only in depth account I have read re Heisenberg was the autobiography of John Wheeler. He was Heisenberg's peer and generally not very hard on people. Wheeler was about the only friend Teller had after Teller told the House of Unamerican activities run by Joe Mcarthy in the 50's, that Oppenheimer was a risk to national security and they took Openheimer's clearances away and caused a great many problems for Oppenheimer.. After that Teller was shunned by the academic community. I know I never liked Teller. He sort of struck me as having a sociopathic personality.
