The backwards logic of "most prisoners are minorities (or male, for that matter) because most laws are broken by minorities (males), ergo all laws are racist (sexist)" doesn't go very far with me. No, it doesn't work with me, either. A felon is a felon. Period. It doesn't surprise me much, though, that Kerry and Clinton are trying to increase their voter base in prisons. I think one can make a reasonable, legitimate case for felons having the right to vote independent of any benefits it might bring to one's party. I don't presume to suggest that that's what's happening here, only that I think it's too much to dismiss it out of hand as mercenary vote gathering. It could be at least in part legitimate.
