Sure, that's why 3 million Indians choose to pay more for GSM..

They may be paying more because the coverage is better with GSM, and the coverage is better with GSM because they have more spectrum in more places, and they may have more spectrum in more places because of the bribes and political machinations of the Euronuts. So yes, the consumer is king, as he reviews the menu put before him, but the menu is not necessarily an apples to oranges comparison of technology.

Same holds in Brazil, remember Vesper not being allowed to build out in the 1900 Mhz spectrum that was purchased? That left big holes in CDMA coverage around Sao Paulo. So the coverage is better on the GSM networks. Gee wonder why? Even despite this Portugal Telecom held out against its EU manipulators and Telefonica 50-50 partner only to finally cave today. The pressure to help Nokia's renegotiation is now a full court worldwide press.

<< Sure, that's why 3 million Indians choose to pay more for GSM....because of the bribes/bias of the Indian government. >>

LOL!

That's just May. How about the other 72.1 million GSM users in India?
