Ideas exist.

You seem to accept this as an axiom.

Moby Dick didn't exist before Melville thought him up, and that whale would no longer exist if it had not been written down or told to someone who could carry the story across the generations. You again seem to be implying that it has always existed in a pool of whale stories, some written and some yet to be told.

"1) Ideas exist. If we can discover them independantly then what is the locus of ideas?"

Ideas are thoughts which are formed from sensory perceptions. You either know where your thoughts come from or you don't. I'm not going to help you any more with that great mystery. You don't "discover" ideas. You formulate them. You don't discover pain when a bee stings you. You experience pain. Pain is not something floating about waiting for you to run into it. Pain is your interpretation of something when nerve endings are damaged. When you and I experience pain it is NOT THE SAME PAIN. DO YOU GET IT??
