If our country does not address its financial problems they will get so huge that the country will not survive. I cannot imagine sticking my kids with the bill for my partying like my father's generation did to us. Why would the younger ones be willing to pay.

I can see a new Constitutional Amendment: The Personal Responsibility Amendment. If a person relied upon promises that could not reasonably be expected to be fulfilled there is no government largesse due in excess of what the irresponsible earned from their own contributions less a proportional percentage of current unfunded mandates.

That would end the gravy train and my generation would get the shaft we deserve. Of course a couple generations' shafts would end up sticking it to us, their kids and grandkids. Today's left would find their grand schemes left them high and dry.
