Don't give them weapons to beat us over the head with.

Not suggesting that we do. But when we distort to the point that we fool ourselves, like the point about truth being a function of which side it favors, we're in deep trouble. There is a difference between "true" and "favorable." When we can no longer differentiate between the the two concepts...

Remember, the rest of the world is conditioned by the left to believe the worst of us. Don't give them weapons to beat us over the head with.

To me, that means always do the right thing, and you'll never have to be ashamed of yourself.

Sweeping things under the rug doesn't make them go away. The coverup is always worse than the crime.

Take, for example, My Lai. It wasn't the left who tried to cover it up and pretend it was no big deal, which, I submit, was compounding the atrocity because it wasn't taken seriously and dealt with according to law as soon as it came out.

Take, for example, Abu Ghraib. It wasn't the left who tried to cover it up and pretend it was no big deal, which, I submit, was compounding the atrocity because it wasn't taken seriously and dealt with according to law as soon as it came out.

I detect a pattern here.

Many, not all, people on the right don't want to hear anything bad about the military so if a bad apple does something wrong, they want it to just be ignored and go away, and they support the coverup. And that only makes it worse in the long run.
