If you can ever managed to thoroughly stamp out all important loopholes than you wind up restricting political speech.

As I recall, you have opposed campaign finance reform primarily on principle. On this question, it would seem that the pragmatics are on the same side as the principle. That makes it a twofer. Unfortunately, the optics on that side are terrible.
