If the government could PROVE that the inmates in Gitmo were dangerous, there would be no reason to hold them in Gitmo, or for Gitmo to even exist! So, you can assume they HAVE NO proof. At this point, it would be a major worldwide embarrassment for them to even have the Gitmo inmates stories made public. So, they just stay in the gulag.

It's just another instance of the lying Bushies saying "trust us".

I have no proof that the people in Gitmo are even dangerous.

Why should you? Are you the judge and jury? Why are you extending American law to foreigners? Do you have a security clearance? Do you have absolute proof of their true identities (some had no, or fraudulent, identification).

They were captured and detained for a reason, not just for the sake of some arbitrary "quota" so DOD could build a facility at Gitmo and staff it with military surfers and scuba-divers looking to be posted in the Caribbean for the extra-curricular activities...

And we're not going to have military tribunals so long as the SC and other legal eagles are intervening with providing them due process, even if via the classified court system.
