The wonderful thing about the Constitution is that it acts as a brake on the people who can't remember the past nor anticipate the future.

Unless somebody cuts the brake lines for national security reasons and bypasses the system our Founding Fathers gave us.

I don't trust any powerful executive in the White House. The catalog of attempted and actual abuses in the last 50 years alone is more than enough to scare us all. They lie, cheat, cover up, break the rules, ignore laws and do what they can to have their way, all "for our own good".

I don't buy it, never will.

"If they had their way, they'd keep repeating and repeating the same old mistakes, with no comprehension why they keep having bad results.

It's up to the rest of us to stop them."

Who is "they?"

You seem rather adroit at talking about someone without referring to whom you refer. Makes it kinda hard to respond.

This situation with the TIMES publication provokes in me that hint of control that the Bush administration has used on more issues than I can recall.

All that Bush has done is say that it is important to National Security and under that guise everything gets squashed

This to me is not what a Democracy is all about.

I commend the Times for releasing the information which as Dale's post shows was not that serious . A brouhaha about nothing really that bad.
