While this seems all well and good to those out of power today, it is not unreasonable to wonder how soon they will rue their statements once in power. Pretty quickly, I would guess

And let's not forget the harm done to all of us by both parties in the name of partisan spite.

It seems to me that such actions have become much more frequent in recent years.

It seems so, but we can't know whether it's more frequent or whether we're just hearing more about it.

While this seems all well and good to those out of power today, it is not unreasonable to wonder how soon they will rue their statements once in power.

It always amazes me how many don't understand geese and ganders and time. It shouldn't, but it still does.
