Russ in your blog, you wrote "as they earlier gave distinct guideposts for their policy actions that have since been breached". I disagree with this. On March 9, when the BOJ announced the end of quantitative easing, Fukui laid out a roadmap for policy normalization. They have not deviated from that roadmap and even if they stand pat next week, they still will not have deviated from it. I agree with the guy you quoted saying the BOJ will lose credibility if the cave to gov't pressure but they still have quite a bit of leeway before they are seen as caving. I believe that the BOJ takes its independence very seriously and would not let that happen.
