You just read the same Hersh essay I did. First, we have to remember that Hersh is a liberal. Secondly, that He hates Bush and this administration with a passion. Third, That all the "sources" he quotes are never identified. He could be making it up out of whole cloth.

Then, balance what he says with what we know. Take away his POV and the arguments Hersh gives about a Military strike sound like what we would want our Gov to be doing. Planning for all options so that they can calculate the risks.

Then look at what Hersh says about the non-military options and again take away his POV. That sounds like where we are going.

I would be a lot more confident that the non-mil is going to work if they were more involved in propaganda efforts against the Iranian regime. I don't think we are working closely enough with the Iranian exiles on getting broadcasts into Iran to destabilize the regime.

In summary, what is my answer? As they say in Hollywood, "nobody knows." :>)
