Fireworks Explosion Hurts 16UPPER MERION TWP., Pa. - July 5, 2006 - An explosion sent several people to the hospital after the end of a fireworks show in Montgomery County. Now police are trying to figure out what sparked the blast.

The Action Cam was at the field behind the Upper Merion Township building where a fireworks show took place last night.
The explosion sent people fleeing, leaving flip flops and blankets scattered all over the place.

One witness tells Action News what he saw.

Derek Foreman/Newark, Delaware: "I just saw them light up, mainly. I saw it come in, it was lit, I saw it hit the ground and explode."
Police are not sure what it was, that went off.
Lt. Tom Nolan/Upper Merion Police: "Just at the end of the grand finale there was an explosion in the crowd, a couple hundred yards from where the fireworks were being shot off. At this point we're not sure if the explosion in the crowd came from the fireworks display or if it was something brought into the area."
At least six of the people hospitalized have serious injuries. At least one of the injured is a child.
