And while some people wait for conclusive, non-ambiguous, less partisan, accepted-by-all proof that the world isn't flat

I'm tired to talking to people who don't listen. At least on those crappy threads they don't pretend to be smart and thoughtful. They just write non-conformists off as Other without a hearing. Y'all sit politely through the hearing, then write them off as Other. I guess sitting through the hearing lets you feel good, just like riding the Gore train lets you feel good, even as it accomplishes nothing.

Sheesh!

How much CO2 reduction is enough? Let's have a goal in mind, not just "every little bit helps."

Should we stop all fossil-fueled electrical production? Should we take all private vehicles off the road unless they have a government permit to drive? Maybe we should go back to an agrarian society and shut down all factories? Outlaw air conditioning? Stop interstate trucking?

C'mon now, how much is enough? If everyone just recycles one aluminum can, is that enough? How about if everyone goes to WalMart instead of going to three different stores to get what they need? Would that be enough?

So, how much is enough? Should we destroy our economy to prevent destroying civilization? What if this really is just a bunch of Chicken Little nonsense? What would our grandkids say about that?

The best evidence shows that the earth has gotten warmer, and suggest that it will continue to, but human caused global warming, and certainly global warming leading to a major disaster, is hardly a flat earth type issue. There is very conclusive, non-ambiguous, non-partisan, accept by (nearly) all evidence/proof that the world isn't flat. "Flat earth or spherical earth" isn't an issue, any more than "is that raving lunatic in the mental institution really Napoleon" is an issue. The idea that human caused global warming will lead to a major disaster within a century or two is a totally different type of concern. And skepticism of that idea does not amount to being wilfully blind, or blind at all.
