If the polls show people more aware about global warming and more anxious to do something about it then I think we can easily say the political strategy of getting people motivated has worked. It will take longer to assess how well the various solutions work in practice, but the first step is getting people interested in looking for solutions. I think we will see whether that interest is there in new polling data- wouldn't you think that's one way to measure it?

I recently started using gmail (from google) which I love, and just found out that you can transfer your other accounts to gmail rather than switch, although I haven't done it yet.

Not sure how you can get gmail -- my kids sent me invitations, their friends sent them invitations, and now I have 100 invitations to send, myself.
