I don't happen to think we would be cheapening the flag with an amendment, however, I do agree with you that it could become just another bureaucracy to try and "police" the defamation of any flag. I would not vote for it.

"These old white men wanted to lower taxes, fight an illegal war, and referred to God several times in the document. This would never fly today, and it's an embarrassment to the country that it was ever signed.
