I do think Romney is a nice balance to McCain, including temperment (from what I know), geographic, experience (Senator/Governor, Military/Civic -private enterprise,)....but will Mr. Romney being a Mormon cause a problem with some religious conservatives? I don't know...

Romney is new enough to the government side that the VP slot would be acceptable and appropriate. He is seen as something of a realist and a "can-do" guy....

It's interesting to speculate, but I think Romney would soften some of the parts of McCain that bother the Republican base.
